Winter, 2010 - Knitting Class Schedule
***Our winter hours will begin the week after
New Year’s. They are:
Tues. through Fri. 9:30-5:00 and Sat. 10:00-4:00. (Closed Sun. and Mon.)
We will continue to have “sit and knit” on Wednesday and Friday afternoons. There is a wonderful group of women who come and knit, laugh, talk and just have fun. Join us any Wednesday or Friday afternoon.

Pre-registration and a 50% nonrefundable deposit are required for all classes. Some classes are limited in size so be sure to sign up early. Evening classes need a minimum of 4 people enrolled. Come in and purchase your yarn, needles and pattern before the class begins. Class time will be devoted to knitting.
Beginner Knitting
This is a true beginner class. We will cover casting on, knitting, purling, binding off, increasing and decreasing while making something fun and useful. You will finish this class with a good basic understanding of knitting and 3 dishcloths.
* Please choose one of the above UFO/Pick-Your-Own-Project Class times.
* Supplies: 3 skeins worsted weight cotton yarn, size 8 needles.
* Class fee: $40
Socks
Wool socks are a warm addition to the fight against the cold during winter. This class will cover all yu need to know to knit up a pair of warm socks. You will choose whether you want to make your socks on 2 circular needles, 4 double-pointed needles, or with the magic loop. If you are already comfortable with making socks but want a new trist, try designing your own patterned socks!
* 1 session of 4 classes:
Thurs. 9:30-11:30 AM, 1/14-1/24.
* Class fee: $40
* Supplies: Pattern, double-pointed needles or circular needles, and
yarn according to the pattern.
Pick-Your-Own Felted Project
Felting is lots of fun and the possibilities are endless. You could make a bag (including any of Madeline's bags, slippers, hat, small bowl, - and the list continues . . . With this class you get to pick the project. Find something challenging with which you'd like some support or try a felted project for the first time.
* 1 session of 4 classes:
Thurs. 1:00-3:00 PM, 4/1-4/29 (no class on 4/22).
* Class fee: $40
* Supplies: pattern and yarn according to pattern choice.
UFO / Pick-Your-Own-Project
This class is for those “Un-Finished-Objects” we all have hidden away. Bring in your
UFO and get the help you need to turn it into a beautiful “Finished–Object!" This
class is also for any project with which you want some help that either doesn’t “fit” in any
of our classes - or one of our classes that doesn’t “fit” in your schedule. Pick the project
you would like to do and find a UFO / Pick-Your-Own-Project class that works for you.
7 sessions of 4 classes each:
Tues. 7:00-9:00 PM, 1/5-2/2 (no class 1/12).
Tues. 9:30-11:30 AM, 1/12-2/2
Tues. 9:30-11:30 AM, 2/23-3/16.
Tues. 7:00-9:00 PM, 2/23-3/16
Thurs. 9:30-11:30 AM, 2/25-3/18.
Tues. 9:30-11:30 AM,3/30-4/27 (no class on 4/20).
Tues. 7:00-9:00 PM, 3/30-4/27 (no class on 4/20).
Thurs. 9:30-11:30 AM, 4/1-4/29 (no class on 4/22).
*Class fee: $40
***OR you can sign up for just 1 class if you don’t need a 4 week session.

Pick-Your-Own Sweater
Are you ready for a new challenge with your knitting or do you have a sweater pattern you'd like to tackle with some support? This class will cover the skills needed to complete a sweater of your choice. We can help you choose a pattern appropriate to your skill level if you don't already have one in mind.
* 1 session of 4 classes: Thurs. 1:00-3:00 PM, 4/1-4/29 (no class on 4/22).;
* Class fee: $40
* Supplies: pattern, needles and yarn according to pattern choice.
