Fall 2008 - Knitting Class Schedule

Hello Knitters,

For the past few years we have knitted for a different charity each fall.  This year we are

going to make shawls for the new Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough.  We have a few

different patterns – all of them simple.  We will donate these shawls to the hospice as a hug

from the community to the patients.  Join us on Monday afternoons starting in September.

Pre-registration and a 50% nonrefundable deposit are required for all classes.  Some

classes are limited in size so be sure to sign up early.  Evening classes need a minimum of

4 people enrolled.  Come in and purchase your yarn, needles and pattern before the class

begins.  Class time will be devoted to knitting.

Madeline’s Bags

Local designer, Madeline Langan has now created 4 gorgeous felted bags.   Come in and

check out the samples and patterns and pick the bag you’d like to make in this class.  You’ll

finish with a stunning knitting bag or purse.

Entrelac

Entrelac is a knitting technique using short rows to create a woven effect.  It is

especially pretty using a self-striping or variegated yarn.  We have patterns for a shawl,

a scarf, a hat and a felted bag.  Pick a project or two and we’ll show you how it’s done

in this class.

Fake Isle Hat

In this class we will make a hat that looks like a traditional Fair Isle hat but is simpler

method of knitting.  The hat is a great project for learning the two-handed technique.
